DESCRIPTION: * WHAT...Heavy mixed precipitation possible. Total snow and sleet accumulations up to two inches and ice accumulations between one tenth and one quarter inch. Winds could gust 25 to 35 mph from the east. * WHERE...A portion of Northern Lower Michigan. * WHEN...From late Wednesday night through Thursday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday morning and evening commutes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A mix of snow/sleet/freezing rain is expected to change to all freezing rain early Thursday morning. Temperatures are expected to warm above freezing during the afternoon.

Cirrocumulus clouds form at high altitudes (usually around 5 km)
and have distinguishing characteristics displayed in a fine layer of
small cloud patches. These small cloud patches are sometimes referred to as
"cloudlets" in relation to the whole cloud formation.
Cirrocumulus clouds are formed from ice crystals and water droplets. Often, the
water droplets in the cloud freeze into ice crystals and the cloud becomes a
cirrostratus cloud. Because of this common occurrence, cirrocumulus cloud
formations generally pass rapidly.
