AREAS AFFECTED: South End of the Upper Sierra
DESCRIPTION: At 1214 PM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 22 miles north of Onyx, or 24 miles southwest of Olancha, moving north at 20 mph. HAZARD...Pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Casa Vieja Meadows, Blackrock, Beach Meadows, and Pascoes.
INSTRUCTION: If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.

Fog is technically a type of stratus cloud, which lies along the
ground and obscures visibility.
It is usually created when humidity in the air condenses into tiny water droplets.
Because of this, some places are more prone to foggy weather, such as regions
close to a body of water.
Fog is similar to mist; both are the appearance of water droplets suspended in
the air, but fog is the term applied to the condition when visibility is less than 1 km.

Freezing rain is a condition where precipitation which has fallen in the form of

rain which results in a very thick glaze of ice is known as an ice storm.
