DESCRIPTION: ...The National Weather Service in Wilmington NC has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in North Carolina...South Carolina... Cape Fear River At William O Huske Lock And Dam 3 affecting Cumberland and Bladen Counties. Black Creek At Quinby affecting Darlington and Florence Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Cape Fear River at William O Huske Lock And Dam 3. * WHEN...From Wednesday afternoon to Saturday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 45.0 feet, Flood waters will affect lowlands along the east bank of the river with some minor overflow along the west bank. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:00 AM EDT Tuesday the stage was 36.4 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage early tomorrow afternoon to a crest of 44.2 feet Thursday morning. It will then fall below flood stage late Friday evening. - Flood stage is 42.0 feet. - weather.gov/safety/flood

A contrail is an artificial cloud, created by the passing of an aircraft.

Contrails form because water vapor in the exhaust of aircraft engines is suspended in the air under certain temperatures and humidity conditions. These contrails are called exhaust contrails.

Another type of contrail can form due to a temporary reduction in air pressure moving over the plane's surface, causing condensation. These are called aerodynamic contrails.

When you can see your breath on a cold day, it is also because of condensation. The reason contrails last longer than the condensation from your breath is because the water in contrails freezes into ice particles.
